The New Philosophers | Jeremy Rifkin

When the concept of philosophy first took shape, philosophers were primarily religious thinkers. Later in this progression they were artists followed by scientists and then educators. It would appear that the latest evolution of philosophers are sociologists and economists.

Since it seems that philosophers of each age are the one’s that think in terms of the spirit of the time in which they are dwelling. Currently the spirit of the times is driven by economics and sociology.
